I agree that costumes were worn and mistakes were made (‘Doo, at least here, conforms to the classic ‘flawed villain’ motif common throughout 20th Century literature). However, their motivation for antagonising the intrigued - often through the use of supernatural imagery - was to scare people away from vast piles of pirate gold, stores of plutonium to be traded with the Russians, and to cover up illegal record-copying operations.

If you are intending on commiting your criticisms to pie chart form, at least make them accurate.
